HOL Volunteers: Making it Happen

The generosity and dedication of our volunteers empowers House of Lazarus to offer programs that are making a real difference in our community. Every day, volunteers assist with sorting household goods and clothing donations, evaluating, cleaning, bundling, pricing, displaying, and stocking items, while also helping customers in our stores. Their hard work keeps our stores running smoothly.

In our Food Bank, volunteers support the flow of donations by sorting and restocking shelves to ensure families have access to essential items. At our weekly community meal, Dinner on the House, volunteers help serve meals, create a welcoming environment, and assist with cleanup, helping bring people together in fellowship and support.

Many of our programs, such as Operation Backpack, Lunch and Learn and the Green Food Bag program could not operate without the dedication and support of our volunteers. Consistently, these steadfast individuals serve, pack, organize, and bring programs to life that enrich the lives of people throughout our community.

Volunteering not only strengthens our organization and community but also brings meaningful benefits to the volunteers themselves. Through volunteering, individuals build connections, develop new skills, gain valuable experience, and find a sense of purpose and belonging. Many volunteers discover friendships, increased confidence, and the rewarding feeling that comes from making a positive impact in the lives of others. At House of Lazarus, volunteering creates opportunities for personal growth while fostering compassion, community spirit, and meaningful relationships.

We recognize that our successes are made possible in large part because of the continued compassion, commitment, and tireless efforts of our volunteers.
